We've been socked in all day by torrential rains and a weather window that is not cooperating. Lake Worth is an okay place to wait out a short window but not good for an extensive stay that we're facing. So, tomorrow (predicted to be rain free) we plan to head south to the upper keys and make our crossing to Bimini sometime next week.
Stay tuned as "things" tend to change.

Flexibility is essential. Our son Andre left from Fowey Rocks, I believe, which is north of Key Biscayne. There were lots of boats waiting there that January of '06 and they formed up into little flotillas of about half a dozen boats each based on water line length to cross together. I believe you will go through 26 bridges in the next 24 miles till you get past Miami. If you have to wait a long time for that window Andre said Coconut Grove was a great place to visit. Hope the weather cooperates and you are in Bimini soon!
